HB 227-ALASKA SMALL LOANS ACT CHAIR ANDERSON announced that the only order of business would be HOUSE BILL NO. 227, "An Act relating to the Alaska Small Loans Act; and providing for an effective date." CHAIR ANDERSON indicated that the committee packet includes a document listing the changes embodied in Version 24-LS0599\Y, Bannister, 3/9/06. He asked if the committee had any questions in regard to Version Y. 3:46:44 PM JOSH APPLEBEE, Staff to Representative Anderson, Alaska State Legislature, as the committee aide for the House Labor and Commerce Standing Committee, sponsor, reminded the committee that during the last hearing on HB 227 the real estate industry expressed concerns. [Version Y] exempts the real estate industry from this legislation and the two bills addressing mortgage lenders and mortgage brokers are being worked on separately. In response to Chair Anderson, Mr. Applebee confirmed that the real estate industry is satisfied with Version Y. 3:47:34 PM CHAIR ANDERSON moved to adopt CSHB 227, Version 24-LS0599\I, Bannister, 3/17/06, as the working document. There being no objection, Version I was before the committee. 3:48:05 PM MR. APPLEBEE, in response to Chair Anderson, specified that the next committee of referral for HB 227 is the House Judiciary Standing Committee. 3:48:19 PM REPRESENTATIVE KOTT moved to report CSHB 227, Version 24- LS0599\I, Bannister, 3/17/06, out of committee with individual recommendations and the accompanying fiscal note. There being no objection, CSHB 227(L&C) was reported from the House Labor and Commerce Standing Committee.
